St Mary's is part of the Benefice of Stamford St Mary and St Martin Stamford Baron. Both churches are in the Diocese of Lincoln. Our Diocesan is the Right Reverend Christopher Lowson, our Suffragan is the Bishop of Grantham, the Rt Rev Dr Tim Ellis.

Our Parish Priest is Fr Michael Ruff, lately Chaplain of Stamford School.

We are a dispersed community living in the surrounding towns and villages as well as Stamford itself. We are family friendly and all are welcome.

Worship at St Mary's is firmly rooted in the traditional Anglo Catholic style, drawing as it does on the rich heritage of the English Church and its Music. We have a permanent affiliation to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.

Organ Repairs

In its first major overhaul since 1986, the Reed Stops (numbering some 500 pipes) were sent off to Booths of Leeds for re-voicing. They returned, fully repaired, in mid-November and have now been re-installed and tuned by Nicholas Pitts. The result is that, once again, we have an instrument worthy of the Liturgy. It is also equally suited to concert performances and we plan an “inaugural concert” in early 2012.
